Education, not advice

Sleep Dental explains sedation and anaesthesia for dental treatment in general terms. It cannot take account of your health, your medicines, your treatment or the setting you will be treated in. This information is general and does not replace advice from your treating practitioner. When anything here differs from the instructions your own anaesthetist, dentist, oral surgeon or hospital gives you, follow their instructions, particularly about fasting and medicines.

Not a dental clinic

Sleep Dental is not a dental practice. It does not provide, book or recommend dental treatment or particular dental practices. Reading the website, or sending an enquiry through it, does not make you a patient of Dr Aly or of anyone else.

Emergencies

Nobody monitors this website or its forms for urgent problems. In an emergency, call 000. For health advice at any time, healthdirect is on 1800 022 222.

Keeping information current

Clinical pages show who wrote them, whether they have been clinically reviewed, and when. Guidance changes, and a page may fall out of date between reviews. Our editorial policy explains how pages are checked and corrected.

We link to organisations such as ANZCA, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists, healthdirect, the Better Health Channel and the Royal Children’s Hospital so you can read their guidance directly. We do not control those websites, and linking to them does not mean they endorse Sleep Dental.

Checking registration

You can check any Australian health practitioner’s registration, specialty and endorsements on the Ahpra register.

Questions

Questions about your sedation or anaesthetic?

Your own anaesthetist and dentist are the right people to answer questions about your treatment. For a general question about this guide, contact us. Please keep medical details out of website messages.
